Seventy-two golfers will report for action at the Memorial Tournament on June 5. Not all of them will be back the next day.
As the 2026 tournament finishes its second day at Muirfield Village Golf Club, those golfers who don’t make the cut line will be headed home.
The tournament got underway June 4, and here’s what it will take for members of the 72-golfer field to stick around for the final two rounds. You can keep tabs on every score with the 2026 Memorial Tournament live leaderboard.
How many players miss the cut?
The top 50 players plus anyone within 10 shots of the leader will qualify for the weekend at Muirfield Village Golf Club.
Which top players are in jeopardy?
The first day of the Memorial ended with a four-way tie atop the leaderboard. Wyndham Clark, J.J. Spaun, Tommy Fleetwood and Ryan Gerard were all 5 under.
As the field stood after the first round, only eight golfers were on the wrong side of the cut line: Tom Hoge, Robert MacIntyre, Pierceson Coody, Sam Stevens, Rickie Fowler, Matt McCarty, Jhonattan Vegas and Alex Smalley.
Smalley had the worst round of the day with an 83, 16 strokes behind the leaders.
Two-time reigning champion Scottie Scheffler was tied for 33rd at 1 over.
