If you’re a fan of Wegmans’ ranch and light ranch salad dressings, you won’t be able to buy them again until later this year.
In a statement, Wegmans confirmed that it’s temporarily discontinued the products as the company works on reformulating recipes so they’re free of artificial colors and flavors, a requirement for Wegmans’ Food You Feel Good About designation.
“Over the past few years, we’ve focused on removing artificial colors and flavors from our entire line of Wegmans Brand products, and we anticipate that we’ll be able to achieve that goal with 100% of our products by the end of the summer,” the statement read. “Our Wegmans Brand Creamy Ranch should return to shelves in August, and we anticipate that our Wegmans Brand Light Ranch will return by the end of the year.”
Wegmans is still stocking its brand of Organic Ranch Dressing and sells ranch dressing by other brands, including Kraft, Hidden Valley and Ken’s Steak House.
What is the Wegmans Food You Feel Good about line?
Wegmans launched its Food You Feel Good About category of products in 1991. They contain no unnecessary artificial colors, flavors or preservatives and are free of high-fructose corn syrup, artificial sweeteners and trans fats from partially hydrogenated oils.
More than 90% of Wegmans items — thousands of products — now fall into the Food You Feel Good About category (or Wegmans’ organic line), which can be found across store departments, from baked goods and dairy, to meat and produce, to frozen and prepared foods.
