Ventura County residents can check out some insects, enjoy food and wine or see some gems this weekend.
The Oxnard Insect Festival, a free event, is scheduled for June 6 at Plaza Park in downtown Oxnard. The Casa Pacifica Angeles Wine, Food & Brew Festival is set for June 7 at California State University Channel Islands in Camarillo.
The Gold Coast Gem Show is also scheduled for June 6 and 7 at the Ventura County Fairgrounds in Ventura.
Anyone planning to attend an event should check with the venue for details about potential cancellations or refunds if they are unable to make it.
Oxnard Insect Festival
The Oxnard Insect Festival is set to take place on Sat., June 6 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Plaza Park, 500 S C Street.
This year marks the sixth year for the event and features over a dozen educational booths as well as vendors and food booths.
Admission is free.
Casa Pacifica Angeles Wine, Food & Brew Festival, Ventura
This Casa Pacifica event has been around for more than three decades and is scheduled to take place on Sun., June 7 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at California State University Channel Islands in Camarillo.
The event features more than 100 wineries, restaurants, bakeries and breweries from Ventura County and beyond.
Attendees must be 21 years old or older and tickets cost around $134 and up and can be purchased on the event website.
Gold Coast Gem Show, Ventura
Ventura’s Gem Show is on June 6 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on June 7 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Ventura County Fairgrounds at 10 E. Harbor Blvd.
Admission is free.
The event features over 30 vendors with various specimens, beads, jewelry and lapidary products. Local gem clubs are also scheduled to be there. Activities for children are planned.
