With Megan Lee's last day at TMJ4, she penned this heartfelt farewell on Instagram

With Megan Lee’s last day at WTMJ-TV (Channel 4), the reporter penned a heartfelt farewell on Instagram. She’s heading home to report in Detroit, a moment she’s “always dreamt of.”

TMJ4, Milwaukee and its people “mean everything to me,” she wrote in her May 26 Instagram post, featuring photos from her time in Wisconsin, including covering the 2024 Republican National Convention in Milwaukee; at Lambeau Field, the home of the Green Bay Packers; at the station; with colleagues, and more.

“I am forever grateful for my time here in Milwaukee,” she said, adding that she learned a lot, had a lot of fun and told some amazing stories.

After about three years with Milwaukee’s NBC affiliate, Lee will be joining fellow Scripps News Group station, WXYZ-TV in Detroit, TMJ4 announced at the end of April. According to Lee’s station bio, she was born and raised in Royal Oak, a suburb outside Detroit.

“The move will take Megan closer to family, and allow her to report for her hometown station,” the TMJ4 announcement said.

“This girl is heading home to report in Detroit,” Lee wrote in her May 26 Instagram post. “I have always dreamt of this moment. Thank you to everyone in Milwaukee. I couldn’t have done this without you.”

Lee graduated from Central Michigan University in May 2021 with a degree in broadcast and cinematic arts, her TMJ4 bio said. She worked at WKBN/WYTV in Youngstown, Ohio, before joining TMJ4 as a multimedia journalist in July 2023.
