A multi-vehicle collision early Tuesday morning in Tracy left a 22-year-old man dead, police said.
The Tracy Police Department’s Communication Center said it received reports at about 12:15 a.m. about a multi-vehicle collision near the intersection of Tracy Boulevard and Grant Line Road.
Witnesses from the scene reported that one of the vehicles was fully engulfed in flames and that the occupants of the vehicles involved were trapped inside.
At the scene, officers worked to extract the driver of the vehicle whose car was on fire, police said.
Officers provided medical aid to the driver, a Tracy man, until medical personnel arrived. Police said due to the man’s injuries suffered in the crash he was dead at the scene.
His identity has not yet been released.
The second vehicle carried a 19-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman of Tracy who were taken to a hospital with major injuries.
Police said the pair were in stable condition.
