Florida baseball will face Georgia in the SEC Tournament semifinals on Saturday, May 23.
The No. 5-seeded Gators (39-18) opened the tournament with a win against Vanderbilt and then run-ruled No. 4 Alabama 13-3 in the quarterfinals.
No. 1 Georgia (44-12), which won the regular season title for the first time since 2008 to earn a double bye, defeated Mississippi State 5-3 to advance to the semis.
The two teams last met in Athens earlier this season, which ended in the Gators winning the series. Heading into this matchup, Florida has won six-straight games and is winners of 10 of their last 11 contests.
In that span, UF has batted .332/.441/.647 for a 1.088 OPS with 30 homers and 29 doubles while outscoring opponents, 110-50. The UF pitching staff has given up a .250 batting average to opponents and 110-to-27 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 93.0 innings
The matchup against Georgia marks Florida’s fourth SEC Tournament semifinals appearance in the last six years. The Gators are 12-6 across the last six SEC Tournaments with semifinal appearances in 2021, 2022 (finals), 2023 and 2026.
The Gators have won seven SEC Tournament titles while finishing as a runner up seven times, most recently being crowned champions in 2011 and 2015.
The winner of this game will face either Auburn or Arkansas in the conference title game.
