It was only a matter of time before the Wisconsin Badgers fell out of the top 15 in terms of 2027 recruiting rankings.
Earlier in the week, Wisconsin was listed at No. 15 in 247Sports’ 2027 Team Recruiting Rankings. Here at the end of the week, they’ve fallen to No. 17.
Both numbers are drops from when they hovered around the top 10, though there never seemed to be a real chance that’s where this program would end up come the end of the recruiting cycle.
Overall, Badgers fans still have a lot to be impressed with when it comes to Luke Fickell’s change of philosophy. One could argue this is happening years too late, but prioritizing in-state players has been the saving grace to his coaching career.
Wisconsin has been leapfrogged by Michigan and Louisville as they dropped two spots in just a few days. The Badgers still have their eye on plenty of talented players; it’s just a matter of whether or not they commit to playing in Madison, knowing the current state of the program.
