Northern Section runners took to the track last week to compete in the Northern Section Divisional Championships.
On the boys side, Foothill (Div. I), West Valley (Div. II), Pierce (Div. III) and Redding Christian (Div. IV) took first place as a team. Chico (Div. I), West Valley (Div. II), CORE Butte (Div. III) and Hope (Div. IV) earned top marks in their divisions on the girls side.
West Valley was the only school to win both the boys and girls meets for their respective division. The Eagles also had the most individual first-place finishers for both girls and boys with nine each. Foothill boys and CORE Butte girls followed behind with both schools seeing seven athletes take first place.
