After blasting the Ole Miss Rebels 14-2 on Sunday, the Texas Tech Lady Raiders are off to the Super Regionals, where they will face off with the hosting Florida Gators. The winner in a best-of-three series will move on to play for a national championship at Devon Park in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Head coach Gerry Glasco is looking to make back-to-back trips to OKC. The win over Ole Miss was a milestone for the program; it was the team’s No. 55 win on the season.
For standout slugger Mia Williams, this will be a homecoming. Prior to joining the Tech softball team, she played in her home state of Florida for the Gators. She was named to the 2024 SEC All-Tournament Team and helped the Gators advance to the WCWS last season. There will likely be a wide range of emotions for the only player in school history to have a 20 home run, 20 stolen bases season for the Red Raiders.
The action is set to begin on Friday at 11 a.m. ET, 10 a.m. CT. Tech has played against Florida four times in its history and has yet to win a game. They last played in 2009. All four games have been played in Gainesville. Much like last season, a trip to the Sunshine State is all that stands in the way of Texas Tech advancing to the Women’s College World Series.

The Gators took care of business over the weekend, with a clinching win over Georgia Tech 5-2. The two schools will now battle it out for a shot at a national championship.
