PINCKNEY — A makeover and expansion is coming to Pinckney Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram.
A final site plan to renovate and expand the dealership at 1295 E. Main Street/M-36 was approved, with conditions, by the Pinckney Planning Commission on May 13. The plan involves replacing the dealership’s existing showroom with a larger one and renovating the rest of the building.
The project will add approximately 13,912 square feet to the existing 17,717-square-foot building. Other improvements will be made to lighting, landscaping, stormwater management and access for emergency vehicles.
Rob Gagliano with Genesis Automotive Group said he purchased the dealership about 18 months ago and has been working on renovations ever since.
“We think we have a really good design that works well and (allows us to) utilize what’s there … and make it a lot more efficient for our customers and our employees,” he said.
Village Planner Lucie Fortin said the proposed plan will “(improve) the look from M-36.” Commissioners agreed, and the site plan was approved.
