One person is dead and another is in critical condition after they were thrown from a motorcycle during a crash May 17 in Pickaway County, according to Dispatch news partner NBC4/WCMH.
The crash happened around 2:51 p.m. at the intersection of state Route 159 and Kingston Adelphi Road in Kingston, located between Circleville and Chillicothe, NBC4 reported, citing the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Troopers said a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado traveling westbound on Kingston Adelphi Road failed to come to a complete stop and rolled through the intersection at state Route 159. At the same time, a 2023 CAN-AM Spyder motorcycle was traveling southbound on Route 159.
According to NBC4, the pickup truck struck the motorcycle, throwing both the operator and passenger onto the roadway.
The passenger, identified as Peggy Sims, was pronounced dead at Adena Regional Medical Center, while the motorcycle operator remained in critical condition, NBC4 reported.
The crash remains under investigation.
