Wisconsin among nation's top five programs competing for four-star DL

The Wisconsin Badgers’ week got off to a great start when four-star defensive lineman Yahzeen Zion placed the team in his top five.

Wisconsin faces stiff competition for Zion, and this is a battle that doesn’t exactly favor the Badgers on paper.

Zion, a former high school basketball standout, has now narrowed down his top five to Miami, Oklahoma, LSU, Florida, and Wisconsin.

The 6-foot-4, 265-pound defensive lineman currently plays for Desert Edge High School in Goodyear, AZ.

Interestingly enough, out of the schools in his top five, the Tigers are the only program to not have a defensive lineman commit in their class of 2027.

Currently, Wisconsin has commitments from defensive lineman David Hill and Will Zaccagnino, both of whom are three-star recruits.

It should be noted that while Zion announced his top five, he has yet to reveal a commitment date.
