San Joaquin County corrects voter guide after endorsement list error

The San Joaquin County Registrar of Voters said it mailed corrected voter information to every registered voter after discovering an incomplete list of party endorsements in the County Voter Information Guide for the June 2 statewide primary election.

The registrar announced the error late Monday, saying the endorsements page on page 10 of the guide was incomplete due to an administrative error.

Election officials said updated pages have been mailed to voters and should arrive within the next few days. The corrected voter guide is also available online in English and Spanish on the San Joaquin County Registrar of Voters website.

In a notice sent to voters, the office included a revised list of endorsements from qualified political parties participating in the June 2 election.

The corrected list includes endorsements from the American Independent, Democratic, Green, Libertarian, Peace and Freedom and Republican parties in statewide offices, congressional races and legislative contests.

Among them were Chad Bianco for governor by the American Independent Party; Shirley Weber for secretary of state by the Democratic Party; Rudolph “Butch” Ware for governor by the Green Party; Thomas Woodard for governor by the Libertarian Party; Ramsey Robinson for governor by the Peace and Freedom Party; and Tom McClintock for California’s 5th Congressional District by the Republican Party and the American Independent Party.

Election officials said voters with questions or concerns can call the office at (209) 468-8945.
