The No. 7 Florida State Seminoles softball team is set to play the Virginia Tech Hokies in the ACC Softball Tournament Championship Game on Saturday in Palmer Park in Charlottesville, Virginia. FSU is looking to win its 20th tournament title while Virginia Tech is going for No. 3.
FSU punched its ticket to the game with a 9-0 beatdown of the Stanford Cardinal on Friday. They led from the first inning and never looked back, picking up a run-rule victory. Bella Demitrijević had the best start of her young career, pitching four shutout innings, allowing just one hit and a walk to earn the win.
After scoring just two runs against Georgia Tech on Thursday, the offense looked like normal against Stanford. They scored three runs in the first to take control and scored in three of the four innings they got to hit. They finished the game with nine hits and went 4-10 with runners in scoring position to take advantage of their run-scoring opportunities.

Virginia Tech has ridden its pitching to the championship, allowing just one run this tournament so far. They beat the No. 2-seeded Duke Blue Devils 5-0 on Friday, holding them to just four hits. The Hokies had eight hits and drew five walks, pulling away late to earn the win.

FSU softball’s Jazzy Francik is mowing down Virginia Tech
It was another easy inning for Jazzy Francik in the third, with FSU’s ace picking up two more strikeouts to strand a runner she walked. She is up to five strikeouts and has allowed one unearned run on two hits and a walk, throwing 42 pitches.

The Florida State Seminoles are now up 2-1 after scoring two runs in the bottom of the inning, thanks to a double by Kennedy Harp and a passed ball. They had a chance to add on, but Jaysoni Beachum flew out to end the inning, stranding two runners.
Kennedy Harp ties the game for FSU softball
FSU has tied the game in the bottom of the second thanks to a double off the wall in centerfield from Kennedy Harp. She drove in Bella Ruggiero, who walked to start the inning. Harp advanced to third when the throw went home and got away from the catcher.
One pitch later, Harp gave FSU a 2-1 lead on a passed ball.

FSU’s ace had no issues in the second inning, striking out two batters before getting a groundout to end the inning. She has thrown 27 pitches and has three strikeouts so far. Virginia Tech’s only run is unearned.

FSU had a chance to tie the game in the top of the first inning after Jaysoni Beachum walked with one out, eventually getting to third on a wild pitch and a passed ball. FSU was unable to drive her in as Ashtyn Danley and Anna Hinde both struck out swinging. Isa Torres also struck out swinging to start the inning. Virginia Tech leads 1-0 after one inning.
Virginia Tech takes an early lead
Virginia Tech took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning as Isa Torres made her first error of the season. With a runner on second and two outs, Michelle Chatfield hit a chopper up the middle, and Torres made a great play to field it, but spun on the throw, and it got away from Hayley Griggs, allowing the run to score.
Jazzy Francik was able to limit the damage to one run, ending the inning with a strikeout. She allowed two hits in the inning, getting one strikeout.
