Michigan's Madonna goes for all-black outfit, towering hat at Met Gala

Michigan-born pop superstar Madonna made an appearance at the 2026 Met Gala and had many talking about her towering, black hat.

The 67-year-old “Queen of Pop” sported an all-black outfit with a hat topped by a towering sailing ship.

Additionally, her slip dress crafted from satin and lace along with satin opera gloves capped off her custom Saint Laurent look inspired by “The Temptation of St. Anthony. Fragment II”, a painting by Leonora Carrington, according to Vogue Magazine. Madonna also had long, jet black hair to complete here Met Gala ensemble.

The 2026 Met Gala took place at New York City’s Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday, May 4.

Madonna was raised in Rochester Hills, Michigan. She dropped out of the University of Michigan in 1978 and moved to New York as an aspiring dancer.

Within seven years she was one of the globe’s biggest pop stars with songs “Like a Prayer,” “Vogue,” “Like a Virgin,” and “Material Girl,” among her most popular.

Madonna’s latest album, “Confessions II,” will release on July 3.
