Driver charged in 2024 crash that killed 3 PBSO deputies

The Palm Beach County State Attorney’s Office has filed charges against a Pennsylvania driver involved in a November 2024 crash that killed three Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office deputies.

Corrinne Blue is charged with three counts of vehicular homicide in the deaths of Cpl. Luis Paez Jr., Deputy Ignacio “Dan” Diaz, and Deputy Ralph “Butch” Waller along Southern Boulevard west of Wellington.

According to an investigation by Florida Highway Patrol, Blue was driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee in an unsafe manner and well above the posted 55 mph speed limit before striking the deputies, who were stopped with their motorcycles, a half-mile west of Lion Country Safari Road on Nov. 21, 2024.

“These charges follow a thorough review of the evidence and mark an important step in the pursuit of justice for the families of Corporal Paez, Deputy Diaz, and Deputy Waller,” State Attorney Alexcia Cox said in a prepared statement. “These deputies were serving this community when their lives were tragically taken by a reckless driver.”
