2026 NFL draft: Full New York Giants-Cleveland Browns trade details

In a notable — but largely anticipated — Day 2 move during the 2026 NFL draft, the New York Giants traded up with the Cleveland Browns to acquire the No. 74 overall pick (third round, 10th selection).

The Giants sent the Browns their 105th and 145th overall picks in the 2026 draft, plus a 2027 fourth-round selection.

The Giants immediately used the selection to draft Notre Dame wide receiver Malachi Fields.

The 6-foot-4, 218-pound Fields is a physical, big-bodied X receiver known for his contested-catch ability, route tempo despite his size, and production across five college seasons (including time at Virginia before transferring to Notre Dame).

NFL analysts project him as a potential average NFL starter with strong hands and the frame to win at the catch point.

The deal gives the Browns extra mid-round ammunition and a future asset as they continue to rebuild. For the Giants, it reflects an aggressive push by general manager Joe Schoen to add immediate impact talent at wide receiver rather than waiting deeper in the third round.

The trade highlights New York’s willingness to invest draft capital for a player they clearly valued at the top of the Round 3 board.
