Detroit kept it local with their second-round pick, taking Michigan defensive end Derrick Moore with the No. 44 overall pick. The Lions originally had the No. 50 pick in the draft before trading with the New York Jets for the earlier pick.

The Lions selected Clemson offensive tackle Blake Miller at No. 17 overall with their first-round choice on Thursday, April 23. The Las Vegas Raiders unsurprisingly took Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza with the No. 1 overall pick, while the Los Angeles Rams made the most headline-worthy choice by picking Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson at No. 13 overall.
