The Detroit Lions are officially done with the NFL Draft
Day 3 of the draft is in the books, with the Lions drafting seven total players. Detroit, who finished 9-8 in 2025, took Clemson offensive lineman Blake Miller with the No. 17 overall pick in the first round of the draft. Miller was a four-year player with the Tigers and was one of the top offensive tackle prospects in the draft.
The Lions selected Michigan defensive end Derrick Moore with the No. 44 overall pick after trading up six spots in the second round with the New York Jets. Staying in Michigan, Detroit selected Wolverines linebacker Jimmy Rolder in the fourth round with the No. 118 overall pick, while the Lions picked Arizona State cornerback Keith Abney II in the fifth round at No. 157 overall.

The Lions made a trade for the No. 168 overall pick in the fifth round, letting go of their No. 181 pick, the final pick in the fifth round, and their No. 213 pick. They selected Kentucky wide receiver Kendrick Law with their fifth-round pick and Texas Tech defensive tackle Skyler Gill-Howard with their sixth-round pick.
For their seventh-round pick, the Lions selected Tennessee defensive lineman Tyre West.

The Lions did not have a third-round pick after trading two to the Jacksonville Jaguars for the right to select receiver Isaac TeSlaa in the third round in the 2025 draft.

Lions picks in 2026 NFL Draft
The Lions traded both of their 2026 third-rounders, including a compensatory pick for defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn getting hired as the coach of the New York Jets, to trade up for receiver Isaac TeSlaa in the 2025 draft. Detroit also got an extra 2026 sixth-round pick in the deal.
The Lions received their extra fourth-round pick from the trade that sent running back David Montgomery to the Houston Texans, but then traded that pick to the Jets to move up to No. 44 in the 2026 draft.
Detroit got a compensatory pick in the fifth round after offensive lineman Kevin Zeitler left in free agency ahead of the 2025 season. However, they traded that pick plus a sixth-round pick to the Buffalo Bills to move up in the fifth round of the 2026 draft.
The Lions received a sixth-round pick in the trade that sent receiver Tim Patrick to the Jaguars. Lastly, the Lions got their seventh-round pick from the Cleveland Browns in a 2024 deadline deal for pass rusher Za’Darius Smith.
