The 2026 NFL draft kicks off tonight with a lot at stake for the Miami Dolphins. New coach Jeff Hafley and general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan face their first big test after taking over for Mike McDaniel and Chris Grier, fired after a second straight season of missing the playoffs.
The Dolphins have 11 picks in the draft, with two coming in tonight’s first round. The No. 11 pick was earned by finishing 7-10 in 2025, while they added the No. 30 pick by trading receiver Jaylen Waddle to the Denver Broncos. With him and Tyreek Hill no longer there, Miami is looking to add new weapons for new quarterback Malik Willis, signed to replace Tua Tagovailoa. They also need help at guard, edge rusher, cornerback and safety.

Will Dolphins draft Rueben Bain or Francis Mauigoa?
There’s a lot of Miami representation at the 2026 NFL draft, with up for four Hurricanes potentially going off the board in Round 1 tonight. The two biggest, defensive end Rueben Bain and offensive tackle Francis Mauigoa, might be available when the Dolphins make their first pick at No. 11 overall. Bain in particular would fit a need for the Fins, though his recently revealed involvement in a 2024 fatal car crash could be cause for concern. See the latest from USA TODAY’s updating mock draft.
Where is the 2026 NFL draft?
In 2015, the NFL draft moved out of Radio City Music Hall in New York City in favor of a touring showcase of football fandom. This year’s event is taking place in Pittsburgh near the home of the Steelers. Next year’s draft is set for Washington, D.C.
