Warriors want multi-year commitment from Steve Kerr in future contract

The Golden State Warriors revealed their desires in a possible Steve Kerr contract recently, as two sides are set to engage in negotiations soon.

According to ESPN, Golden State wants a multi-year commitment from Kerr if he were to continue as the Warriors’ head coach.

Team sources told ESPN that the Warriors’ front office wants Kerr to “express a hunger” for coaching rather than just “loyalty to Draymond Green and Steph Curry.”

A possible departure from Kerr could mean that the Warriors begin to shift their focus to a youth movement, as their 2025-26 roster was among the oldest in the league.

However, Golden State will need to act sooner rather than later, as some of the top coaching candidates are being courted aggressively by other teams.
