The Milwaukee Brewers go for a series sweep as they take on the Miami Marlins on April 19.
Jacob Misiorowski takes on Eury Perez in a pitching matchup of flamethrowers.

Jacob Misiorowski settles in
Misiorowski ended up delivering a class outing considering how the first inning went, striking out nine out of 14 hitters he faced at one point and getting through five innings with no more damage done.
The Marlins grinded out at-bats against Misiorowski, raising his pitch count to 97 through five innings. The right-hander allowed four hits and three walks, but only two of each after the first inning. He struck out nine in total on the afternoon, raising his MLB-leading total to 42 through five starts.
Misiorowski finished his day with 16 pitches at 101 mph or greater, the most in a single game in his career and the most by any pitcher since Ben Joyce threw 19 on June 11, 2024 for the Angels.
Eury Pérez in cruise control
It’s been the Eury Pérez show against an overmatched offense.
Through five innings, the Marlins flamethrowing righty has given up only three base runners and struck out six, outmatching them with a fastball-heavy approach. The closest the Brewers came to scoring was in the fifth when Brandon Lockridge doubled with one out, but Greg Jones grounded out and Luis Matos struck out.
Defense burns Jacob Misiorowski is rough first inning
Things couldn’t have begun much worse for Jacob Misiorowski — on the mound as well as both behind and in front of him.
The first four batters of the game all reached for the Marlins as three runs scored in a disaster of an inning. It began with a walk and single, then got worse when shortstop David Hamilton tried to make an exchange to second base too quickly on a slow grounder and lost the ball completely. With the bases loaded, Gary Sánchez couldn’t corral a breaking ball, which brought home a run on a wild pitch.
A double play grounder made it 2-0 and Liam Hicks drove in the third run of the inning with a single to left before Misiorowski finally brought it to an end with a strikeout of Connor Norby.
Of the three runs to cross, only one was earned.
The gauntlet required Misiorowski to throw 30 pitches. His velocity was noticeably elevated with 14 pitches at 100 mph or higher, including topping out at a season-high 102.5, but he struggled to locate and execute his breaking balls.
