Electrical supplier ComEd is reporting 241 power outages after severe storms swept through northern Illinois the evening of April 17.
More than 18,000 customers are without power, according to the utility company’s website.

Heavily affected areas include Jo Daviess County, where 3,537 customers are without power and Stephenson County, where another 3,214 are without power.
According to the Stephenson County Sheriff’s Office, the storms left extensive damage in the village of Lena, which is in western Stephenson County.
Almost all of ComEd’s customers there are without electricity — 1,502 of 1,514 customers, according to the site.
Twenty-nine counties are reporting power outages.
“As severe weather progresses, we’re taking proactive steps to assess conditions and stage crews so we can restore power as quickly and safely as possible,” ComEd posted on social media the night of April 17.
