Stanton and Farr roll senior 700s to highlight action at Crystal Lanes

There were only two honor scores added to the season honor roll this week and both of them came out of the Chilson-Wilcox Senior Men’s League.

During the final session of the C-W League, Bruce Stanton and Al Farr finished the campaign with a flair. Bruce grabbed scoring honors when he put together games of 247, 226 and 253 for a 726 series. Al was right on his heels with a 724 set on games of 264, 214 and 246.

There were also eight other guys in the C-W League that reached the 600 mark. John Stermer headed that group with a 690 series that featured a 259 game. Guy Hill fashioned a 682 series on games of 256, 226 and 200 while John Olson rolled a 664 and Ken Mattison posted a 662 series. Judd McAtee and Dom Lisi both rolled a 661 series while Tim DeGraw had a 607 and Mike Smallcomb hit 600 even. 

In other senior league action, John Olson paced the Striking Seniors Mixed League with a 683 series on games of 259, 224 and 200 while teammate Rich Granger rolled a 607 series. Kevin Swan topped the Sunshiners Mixed League with a 644 total and Tom Edwards booked a 609 to lead the Go-Getters Mixed League.

Scoring honors for the week came out of the Tire World of Corning League off the hand of Jason Hall. He shook off a bump in the road last week and came back with a 787 series on games of 268, 258 and 261 to garner scoring honors for the week. Four other bowlers in this league also topped seven. Jake Blanford rode a 278 opening game to a 733 series while Chuck Stefanini posted a 711 and Bill Bauman powered a 706 series. Al Farr snuck in a 701 set.

The only other scores over 750 this week were rolled on Monday night. Tim Payne paced the Monday Night Mixed League with a 759 series while Neil Stevenson added a 717 set. Jason Huntley’s 758 topped the Tyoga Container/Cortright Mixed League and Dave Cecchini hit 700 even. Jason also notched the only seven in the usually high scoring Hatfield Real Estate Men’s League when he rolled a 706 series. 

Jamie Kennedy led a quartet of seven shooters in the Joey’s Contracting Mixed League with a 746 total that featured a 268 game. He was joined by Jake Allen with a 713 while teammates Scott Doan and Brandon Farr rolled scores of 708 and 701 respectively. In other men’s league action, Kenny Mattison topped the Ruth Briggs Memorial Mixed League with a 722 series.

Nine ladies top 600

Nine ladies in five different leagues reached the 600 mark this week with three of those scores coming out of the Gabe’s Grille Ladies League. Heather Farr paced that trio, and in the process earned scoring honors for the week. She put together games 224, 213 and 225 for a 662 sereis while Dakota Evans rode a 255 game to a 635 series and Michelle Evans finshed with a 615 total.

Anita Gennosa topped the ladies in the Tyoga Container league with a 629 series and she was joined by Kim Ruvolo with a 602 set. Anita also led the gals in the Joey’s League with a 612 set. Hailey Blencowe paced the Savona Storage Ladies League with a 627 series and in the Monday Night Mixed League, Samantha Blanford rolled a 611 and Cheryl Rice finished with a 608 total.

Another quick reminder to keep in mind. Clear your calendar for Saturday, May 16 to participate in the Bowling for the Babies Tournament that will take place at Crystal Lanes. All the proceeds from this event will go to the NICU at Arnot Ogden Hospital. We will have more information on this event in the next few weeks.
