Fond du Lac election guide to local races and referendums April 7

FOND DU LAC – Election Day is almost here — polls will be open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 7.

Election Day voter registration will be available at the polls, and voters will need photo ID to register.

If not already returned by mail, absentee ballots need to be returned to the clerk’s office by 5 p.m. April 7. You can also drop them off at your polling location by giving it to a chief inspector by 8 p.m.

Voters can visit myvote.wi.gov for information about their municipal clerk, their polling place, what races are on their ballot and how to check if they’re registered to vote.

Fond du Lac County voters will find the state race for the Justice of the Supreme Court, as well as the Court of Appeals Judge for District 2, their district’s county board supervisor, and other more local races.

Here are the contested local races and referendums on the ballots.

Fond du Lac City Council

Five people are running for four open seats on Fond du Lac City Council: incumbents Antonio Godfrey Sr., Angela Luehring and Brett Zimmerman, plus newcomers Andrea Mayweather and Joseph Biber.

Fond du Lac School District Board

Fond du Lac School District Board incumbent Katie Moder will run for reelection for one of two spots, along with Luke Tranel. Antonio Godfrey Sr. was appointed to the board March 2, but his name will still appear on the ballot.

Fond du Lac School District referendum

“Shall the Fond du Lac School District, Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin be authorized to exceed the revenue limit specified in Section 121.91, Wisconsin Statutes, by $7,500,000 per year for four years, beginning with 2026-2027 school year and ending with the 2029-2030 school year, for non-recurring purposes consisting of operational and maintenance expenses, security upgrades, staff compensation and educational programming?”

Fond du Lac County Board of Supervisors District 9

Fond du Lac County Board’s District 9 represents residents in the southern part of the county, including a portion of the village of Campbellsport. Incumbent Thomas Dornbrook will face candidate Deborah Senn.

Fond du Lac County Board of Supervisors District 12

Fond du Lac County Board’s District 9 represents residents in the northeast part of the county. Incumbent Dennis Stenz will face James V. Sippel.

City of Ripon mayor

The city of Ripon has two candidates for mayor: John L. Sullivan and Theodore Q. Grant.

City of Ripon District 4 alderperson

Ripon also has two candidates for District 4 alderperson: Luke Dretske and Douglas S. Iverson.

Oakfield School District referendum

“Shall the Oakfield School District be authorized to exceed state revenue limits on a non-recurring basis by $700,000.00 for the 2026-27 school year, $925,000.00 for the 2027-28 school year, $1,275,000.00 for the 2028-29 school year, and $1,375,000.00 for the 2029-30 school year to maintain School District programs and operations?”

Rosendale-Brandon School District Board

The Rosendale-Brandon School District has three candidates running for two seats to represent the Rosendale area: Stephanie Dahlke, Matt Morgan and Abby Pluim.

Town of Fond du Lac board supervisor

The town of Fond du Lac has one seat for town board supervisor, with candidates Matt Newton and Scott Blamey.

Town of Taycheedah board supervisor

The town of Taycheedah has two seats for town board supervisor, with candidates John Abler, Christopher Johnson, James A. Rosenthal and Brian Costello.

Village of Brandon trustee

The village of Brandon has two seats for village trustee, with candidates David Charlie Blank, Kurt Krohn and Jack Meyer.

Village of Oakfield trustee

The village of Oakfield has three seats for village trustee, with candidates Chris Cook, Michael Merk, Chase Casey and Al Kamenski.

Village of Rosendale trustee

The village of Rosendale has three seats for village trustee, with candidates Chad Kohlmann, Jared Marchant, Keegan Madigan and Jeremy Giebel.

Village of St. Cloud trustee

The village of St. Cloud has three seats for village trustee, with candidates Laurie Sippel, Carter King, Adam Puetz, David Schry and Ryan Birschbach.
