If your family is making the drive to Florida this spring break, finding the best deals on gas along the way could save you money to spend on other things.
An energy crisis stemming from the nearly-month long U.S.-Israel-Iran conflict is driving up fuel and oil prices, but there are still options to save at the tank, according to AAA.

Be sure to fill up before you hit the road, but if you’re looking for the best prices to fill up the tank along the route south to Florida along Interstate 75 or Interstates 69 and 65, Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama and Georgia offer the best rates, according to AAA.
You’ll find Ohio’s gas prices (average $3.874 per gallon) are lower than Michigan’s, which averages $4.015 per gallon of regular unleaded, but if you can make it to Kentucky, cheaper prices await.
If you’re heading down Interstate 69 and Interstate 65, you’ll definitely want to try and make it through Indiana where the average per gallon is even higher than Michigan at $4.049 per gallon.
The national average on Friday, March 27, was $3.978 per gallon of regular unleaded.
Ohio, Kentucky, Tennesee, Georgia and Alabama all have averages below the national average. Indiana is above the national average.
And you’ll probably want to fill up before entering Florida, where the average prices on Friday was $3.927 — more than 30 cents higher than in Georgia and Alabama.
The road trip could take up to 24 hours, including stops, and depending on your departure and destination cities in Michigan and Florida.

Though gas prices have been surging nationwide, including in Michigan where the average is $4.015, as the Iran conflict continues, there are still ways to save at the tank for your spring break road trip, AAA advises.

Other warm weather states also have cheaper gas. North Carolina’s average is $3.757 and South Carolina is averaging $3.658.
How long is the drive to Florida?
Depending on your departure city in Michigan and destination in Florida and whether you make any stops along the way, the drive can take close to 24 hours.
You’ll head south along I-75, passing through Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee and Georgia before arriving in Florida, or if you’re heading toward the Panhandle, you’ll take or I-69 and I-65 and pass through Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee and Alabama.
