Plan on attending the 2026 Iowa State Fair? The fair is offering a new way for fairgoers to save on rides and games.
The Iowa State Fair announced the new Advance Thrill Pass on Thursday, March 12. The pass replaces all previous ride-package purchase options and is a credit‑based pass that visitors can use on any day of the fair for all rides and games in Thrill Ville and Thrill Town.

What is the Advance Thrill Pass at the Iowa State Fair?
For $30, fairgoers get access to an Advance Thrill Pass, which includes 50 credits to be used on more than 60 rides and games at Thrill Ville and Thrill Town. The average ride at the State Fair costs 5-6 credits, the news release said.
“Guests can pile up the savings by also taking advantage of a 1-credit discount on rides and games in Thrill Ville and Thrill Town until 4 p.m., Monday through Friday,” according to the release.
The pass does not include Iowa State Fair admission and cannot be used in the Thrill Zone or on specific attractions such as the Sky Glider, Ye Old Mill or Giant Slide.

The Advance Thrill Pass is only sold through Aug. 12. Once the fair opens, visitors can buy ride credits only at the Thrill Parks.
