The overhaul of the New York Jets defense during the 2026 NFL free agency’s early stages has continued.
The Jets have signed a ballhawk in cornerback Nahshon Wright. The former Chicago Bears defender has signed a one-year deal worth up to $5.5 million:

Wright, 27, joins a defense joins a defense that did not record a single interception last season.
His skills will help a unit that sorely needs it. Wright recorded a career-high five interceptions last season in Chicago. He added another 11 pass breakups.
Wright played in all 17 games for the Bears in 2027, notching 74 tackles, including three for loss, with five interceptions as well.
Pro Football Focus graded him a 65.1 overall for his efforts last year, good for their 47th best cornerback in the NFL out of 114 qualifying players.
