Iowa women’s basketball star Hannah Stuelke will miss Thursday’s game at Purdue due to an injury.
Stuelke has an upper-body injury, Iowa officials said. Stuelke is considered day-to-day and is hopeful to play against No. 6 Michigan on Sunday.
Stuelke, a senior from Cedar Rapids, is averaging 13.8 points, 8.8 rebounds and 2.7 assists for the Hawkeyes. The 6-foot-2 Hawkeyes forward is shooting 54.6% from the field.
The All-Big Ten performer slammed to the floor midway through the fourth quarter of Monday’s victory at Nebraska and went to the bench. She returned with 3:50 to go, a signal that she was OK. Stuelke finished with nine points, six rebounds and four assists.
Stuelke’s injury could mean increased minutes for Journey Houston, Layla Hays and Teagan Mallegni.
The 12th-ranked Hawkeyes are 20-5 overall and 11-3 in the Big Ten. Purdue is 12-13 and 4-10.
