The end of a Philadelphia company’s agreement to provide food service to a school district will affect 170 Illinois workers, according to a notice to the state.
Aramark’s contract with Plainfield Community Consolidated School District 202 is ending May 22. An Aramark spokesperson said the situation in suburban Chicago will be a job transition rather than a job loss.
“It is our understanding that affected employees will be hired by the district’s new provider,” the spokesperson said. “We are also working with impacted employees to access other job opportunities within our company.”
