49ers 2026 schedule has a huge disadvantage

The San Francisco 49ers traveled over 28,000 miles last season, which was the fifth-most of any team in the NFL in 2025.

However, the 2026 schedule will be even more taxing for the 49ers and their players, as their set to travel over 38,000 miles this upcoming year, the most in the league, according to Bill Speros.

San Francisco’s grueling schedule includes the 15,738 miles trip to Melbourne, Australia, where they’ll take on the Los Angeles Rams in the NFL’s first game in the land down under.

The 49ers were also announced as the home team for a game in Mexico City in 2026, which will be another 3,854 miles that weren’t originally accounted for.

Hopefully Kyle Shanahan’s team gets an assist from the schedule makers with some extra days off built in around some of these long flights.
