Hundreds of schools are canceled Monday in Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky as the region struggles to dig out from under a foot of snow.
A level 3 snow emergency was declared in Hamilton County on Sunday evening, meaning roads are closed except for emergency personnel. The rest of the local counties are under level 2 snow emergencies.
The region remains under a winter storm warning and an extreme cold warning is set to go into effect at 6 p.m.
