MADISON – Wisconsin’s effort to replenish and upgrade the ranks of its football team resulted in 23 commitments during the first seven days the transfer portal was open.
Three of those players were running backs. The latest to commit at that position, TCU’s Nate Palmer, was offered a scholarship by the Badgers while he was in high school.

It’s a position where players get really beat up, so adding another quality option to the room is always a plus. And with three years of eligibility left, he is a players who can develop in the program.
Palmer is the third running back UW has added during this portal cycle, insurance in case Gideon Ituka is unable to play. Ituka, who was injured against Indiana, missed the final two games and the Badgers are moving forward as if he will not be available this season.
