Marysville's House of Spirits closes permanently

House of Spirits, a Marysville cocktail lounge and a reigning champion in Columbus Monthly’s twice-yearly cocktail competition, has announced its closure.

“What began as a vision for a unique cocktail and bourbon destination – set in a beautifully renovated historic Victorian home in the heart of Uptown Marysville – grew into something far greater because of the people who walked through our doors, gathered in our rooms, and made this place a home for good conversation, expertly crafted drinks, and genuine connection,” founders Bruce Daniels and Rick Crago said in an announcement posted on the House of Spirits website and social media pages.

“Our experiences – from seasonal menus and curated bourbon tastings, to pairing dinners, classes, and community celebrations – were defined by the joy you brought to every visit,” they told customers.

House of Spirits had been in business for six years inside an 1884 house on Fifth Street in Marysville’s Uptown section. Known equally for its classic cocktails and unique drinks, the lounge topped 12 other competitors in the creative category of Columbus Monthly’s 2025 Fall Cocktail Competition.

Daniels and Crago said in their announcement that they will explore in coming months the next chapter for House of Spirits.

“We look forward to finding our new direction and sharing it with the community that has meant so much to us,” they said.
