FSU sits in favorable position to land Bowling Green OL transfer

The FSU Seminoles are searching the transfer portal for roster improvements. Offensive line is one of the target areas as they look to replace all five starters from the 2025 season.

Bowling Green transfer Nate Pabst is one of their top targets. The 6-foot-6, 315-pounder was on campus Sunday for a visit. He didn’t leave with a deal, but things are headed in the right direction for Florida State.

“Today was great. The people at Florida State have really showed me around. It feels like everyone here has a great culture, great energy about them,” Pabst said via Noles247. “I had a great time with coach Hand and coach Norvell today. It was a great experience.”

Pabst is entering his final year of eligibility with over 2,100 snaps of experience for the Falcons. He is a versatile lineman, having played significant snaps at every position except center.

Prior to last season, offensive line coach Herb Hand helped overhaul the Seminoles’ offensive line room, and guys like Gunnar Hansen and Micah Pettus flourished. So, it’s not like he’s unfamiliar in that area. He spent quite a bit of time with Pabst, and the two bonded right away.

“Him and I really hit it off personal connection wise,” said Pabst of Hand. “We had a lot of good conversations. He seems like my kind of guy. He told me I seem like his kind of guy. I think we really hit it off. Based on his resume, based on what he’s done in the past, he’s been successful.”

The several days should tell where FSU ultimately stands with Pabst. However, they do have a crystal ball prediction to land him along with Texas A&M edge transfer Rylan Kennedy.
