Authorities have identified the 65-year-old construction worker who died in a collision Nov. 12 in which an Amtrak passenger train struck a dump truck along the Beeline Highway.
Police said Nowel Alfonso of West Palm Beach was killed when a northbound train struck the truck he was driving at Northlake Boulevard near Palm Beach Gardens.

Palm Beach County Fire Rescue and Palm Beach Gardens Fire Rescue crews responded to the crash scene at about 2:25 p.m. and found a passenger train near the truck, which had overturned.
The train’s operator received care for minor injuries at a hospital, a spokesperson for West Palm Beach police said. The crash caused delays for vehicles and trains as crews investigated and cleared the scene.
The incident was one of two train-related deaths to occur in the West Palm Beach area within hours apart. Investigators say a pedestrian was struck and killed by a train in a crash that occurred at about 6:45 p.m. on the 1600 block of Clare Avenue, off Parker Avenue near Howard Park.
