Two incumbents and one challenger have won seats on the Windsor Heights City Council.

Jones took 29.32% of the vote, Campbell won 28.77% of the vote, and Barry took 20.46% of the vote.

Incumbent city council member Michael Libbie failed to win reelection, taking 19.97% of the vote. Results are unofficial until they are canvassed.

The winners will serve four-year terms on the council.

Jones, 48, has served two terms on the city council. He works as the chief community impact officer at the United Way of Central Iowa.

“We have strong momentum to continue to move our city forward and be a welcoming environment for visitors, shoppers, patrons and residents,” he told the Des Moines Register in a candidate questionnaire.

Campbell, 41, is a small business owner and corporate training consultant.

“I’m committed to ensuring we provide excellent service to both residents and businesses through responsible fiscal management, while also strengthening our partnerships across the metro on regional initiatives like DART,” she said.

Barry, 29, is the director of membership for the Urbandale and Windsor Heights Chamber of Commerce and a first-time candidate for office.

“As a younger candidate, I believe it’s time to bring a new generational perspective to the table, one that understands the challenges and opportunities facing Windsor Heights in the years ahead,” he said.
