Florida State got a much-needed win against the Wake Forest Demon Deacons on Saturday night in Tallahassee. They also picked up another victory on Sunday, and it was in recruiting. Three-star edge Chris Carbin has now joined the 2026 class with his commitment.
Carbin is the nation’s No. 747 overall player and the No. 82 edge per the Rivals industry rankings. The 6-foot-4, 240-pounder is the No. 84 prospect in the state of Georgia as well.
FSU beat out the Auburn Tigers and the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets for Carbin, who once had him committed to their program until October. After getting an offer from Florida State in July, Carbin visited for the season opener against the Alabama Crimson Tide, and he was on campus in October when the Seminoles played the Pittsburgh Panthers in October.
Carbin is having a very productive senior season for Hillgrove High School. He racked up 39 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, seven sacks, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, and two pass breakups.
Florida State now has 26 commitments for the 2026 cycle. Their class is currently ranked No. 13 overall by 247 Sports and No. 14 by On3.
