The New York Giants (2-5) attempt to sweep the Philadelphia Eagles (5-2) for the first time since 2007 when they face off at Lincoln Financial Field this Sunday afternoon.
The Giants surprised the Eagles two weeks ago, 34-17, at MetLife Stadium for just their second win in the last nine games against Nick Sirianni’s Eagles.
The over/under opened at 42.5 total points and has risen incrementally over the week to 44, indicating this game could have some fireworks.
For fantasy players, there are a few opportunities here in DFS, but mainly, it’s for season-long players to take advantage of. Here is some start/sit advice in this tilt, which should be entertaining, if not anything else.
Start: Eagles WR DeVonta Smith
I’m using DeVonta Smith in DFS, mainly because A.J. Brown is dealing with a hamstring and has not practiced this week, and last week against Minnesota, Smith broke out with nine catches for 183 yards and a touchdown. The Giants, who could be without No. 1 cornerback Paulson Adebo (knee), have allowed the fourth-most fantasy points to wide receivers this season. He is a must-start in all formats.
Sit: Giants QB Jaxson Dart
Jaxson Dart has been virtually unstoppable since taking over under center four weeks ago. He has been averaging 22.6 FPS per game, fourth most in the NFL over that stretch. But, in this game, he’s facing a defense that is now familiar with him in Vic Fangio’s Eagles, who also will have stud defensive tackle Jalen Carter this time around. The element of surprise is gone. I expect Dart to underperform here, but he’s proven many of us wrong before.
Start: Eagles TE Dallas Goedert
The Giants have been average when it comes to defending tight ends (14th overall), but are vulnerable to them if the opponent is keen enough to exploit them. With starting safety Jevon Holland (knee) not practicing, the Giants could be in for a lot of Dallas Goedert this week. In the first meeting, Goedert had a huge night, reeling in nine of 11 targets and a touchdown for a total of 29 FPS in DraftKings. He should be considered this week.
Start: Giants RB Cam Skattebo
Since Cam Skattebo entered the Giants’ rotation in Week 2, he’s been a Top-10 fantasy running back, averaging 16 FPS per game, which is the ninth-highest over that period. He torched the Carter-less Eagles’ defense two weeks ago for 31 DK points and is a must-start for anyone who owns shares in him. He can beat you in just about every way imaginable and demoralize a defense over 60 minutes. Carter may clog the middle better this week, but Skattebo can beat you off the edge and through the air. Don’t be discouraged. Play him.
Sit: Eagles RB Saquon Barkley
Saquon Barkley was the best running back in football last year, as well as the best fantasy option. That seems like a deal with the devil, now. He looks like a completely different player this year, a bit spent. Last season, Barkley could not be stopped in solidifying his case for a gold jacket and leading the Birds to a Super Bowl win. This year, the Eagles are managing him, likely to keep him fresh for their title defense. He’s gone from 20.1 FPS per game in 2024 to just 10.6 this year and has become invisible in the passing game. At this point, he’s only a season-long option.
