Florida baseball coach Kevin O'Sullivan taking leave of absence to address personal matters

Florida baseball coach Kevin O’Sullivan will take a leave of absence from his coaching duties to address personal matters, effective immediately, the school announced on Monday, Oct. 22.

“I appreciate the support of the University and athletic department, “ stated O’Sullivan in a press release. “I have some personal and family issues that need my full attention at this time.”

Florida recently announced a self-imposed three-game suspension on O’Sullivan to open the 2026 season due to his actions at the 2025 Conway Regional.

“Coach O’Sullivan has our full support as he takes the time he needs to focus on personal matters,” said Athletics Director Scott Stricklin in the release. “We appreciate his openness in communicating this decision, and respect his need for privacy.”

O’Sullivan, 56, has led the program since 2008 where he has amassed a 756-371 overall record including a national championship in 2017. The Gators come off a 39-22 season that featured them reaching the postseason.

During O’Sullivan’s absence, assistant head coach Chuck Jeroloman will assume leadership of the baseball program on an interim basis. Jeroloman, who leads UF’s recruiting and offense, has been with the program for six seasons.

The Gators are in the midst of fall ball, and are scheduled to scrimmage this weekend.
