As Iowa (4-2, 2-1 Big Ten) returns home with the Heartland Trophy once again following a historic shutout win at Wisconsin this past weekend, the Hawkeyes’ fans made an emphatic statement on Monday afternoon. Iowa’s prime-time clash against a rapidly crumbling Penn State (3-3, 0-3 Big Ten) from Kinnick Stadium this Saturday, Oct. 18 is officially a sellout.
This will be the Hawkeyes’ fifth sellout of the 2025 campaign, joining UAlbany (Aug. 30), UMass (Sept. 13), Indiana (Sept. 27), and Minnesota (Oct. 25.
Overall, Saturday’s game will be the 25th consecutive sellout inside Kinnick Stadium, which dates back to the start of the 2022 season.
As stated during the program’s announced themes for each home game, Saturday will be designated as the “ANF Black & Gold Spirit Game.” Fans are encouraged to wear either black or gold, depending on their ticketed seat location.
Given the recent turmoil with the Nittany Lions’ program, the Hawkeyes will be primed to deliver an excellent showing to the Kinnick Stadium faithful.
In addition to a season-ending injury to starting quarterback Drew Allar, the Nittany Lions are currently in the midst of a three-game losing streak that featured losses to UCLA and Northwestern. That stretch of futility cost James Franklin his job.
Saturday’s game will begin at 6 p.m. CT and will stream exclusively on Peacock.
