Iowa football lands commitment from defensive lineman Bariyus Allen

IOWA CITY — Class of 2027 defensive lineman Bariyus Allen has committed to Iowa football, he announced June 7.

Allen, who attends Belmont High School in Ohio, is a 3-star prospect and ranked tied for 612th nationally in the 2027 high school class, according to the 247Sports Composite.

Allen, who is listed at 6-foot-5 and 300 pounds, also held offers from Boston College, Kent State, Northern Illinois, Ohio University and others.

According to his Hudl profile, Allen runs a 4.9 40-yard dash, benches 300 pounds and squats 500 pounds.

Allen is the third defensive lineman to commit in Iowa’s 2027 high school class, joining Tommy Riordan and Jerrence Knoblock, each of whom are also 3-star prospects.
