Registration opens for 2025 Greater Lafayette Christmas Parade, embracing holidays over time

LAFAYETTE, IN — The Greater Lafayette Commerce has opened registration for the 2025 Greater Lafayette Christmas Parade.

Touted as the state’s largest holiday parade, the Greater Lafayette Commerce said in a news release that this year’s parade theme will be “Christmases Past, Present, Future.”

The parade is scheduled for Dec. 6, the release said, lasting from 5 to 8 p.m. along Main Street, stretching from 2nd to 11th streets. The theme invites participants to showcase the magic of the season across time.

Nearly 150 entries partake in the annual parade each year, the release said, drawing thousands of spectators. The parade traditionally is end-capped by an appearance from Santa Claus.

Community groups, schools, businesses and organizations are invited and encouraged to join the celebration and bring their own creative spin to this year’s theme, the release said. All parade entries must incorporate lights into their design.

Entries designed solely for publicity or political purposes will not be accepted, according to the release.

The commercial entry fee is $50; the nonprofit fee is $10; and government or public safety entries are free. Deadline to register is Nov. 7.

Registration forms can be found at bit.ly/2025GLC_ChristmasParade. Completed forms and payments must be submitted by the Nov. 7 deadline to Brittany Matthews at bmatthews@greaterlafayettecommerce.com. Forms may also be submitted in person to the Greater Lafayette Commerce offices at 337 Columbia St.
