When is the next SpaceX rocket launch from California? With any luck, there may be two liftoffs within a week.
What’s more, SpaceX’s next mission from the Vandenberg Space Force Base in Santa Barbara County won’t be a routine Starlink satellite deployment. Instead, the commercial spaceflight company founded by billionaire Elon Musk has been selected as the launch service provider for a military satellite operation known as Tranche 1.
Multiple websites dedicated to tracking rocket launches also suggest SpaceX is working toward another weekend Starlink internet satellite deployment.
Still, for Californians – and Arizonans – making their rocket launch viewing plans, keep in mind that it’s common for rocket launches to be delayed due to any number of factors, including poor weather conditions or unexpected issues with spacecraft. Be sure to visit VC Star for the latest mission updates.
In the meantime, here’s your weekly look at the upcoming launch schedule for September at the Vandenberg Space Force Base.
Wednesday, Sept. 10: SDA Tranche 1
Saturday, Sept. 13: Starlink 17-10
