New York Giants release unofficial Week 1 depth chart: Jaxson Dart is QB2

The New York Giants have released their unofficial depth chart ahead of a Week 1 game against the Washington Commanders, and there is one glaring change.

After a full preseason of Jameis Winston being listed as the backup to Russell Wilson, rookie Jaxson Dart now assumes the QB2 role… albeit unofficially.

Head coach Brian Daboll has repeatedly avoided questions about several positions and said all final decisions would be made available on Sunday.

“Any roster decisions based on who’s going to be in the backup or who this player is going to be, we’ll have that out there on Sunday,” he told reporters on Monday.

Elsewhere on the depth chart, cornerbacks Deonte Banks and Cor’Dale Flott are listed as co-starters alongside Paulson Adebo. Art Green is considered the backup on each side.

At right guard, veteran Greg Van Roten has gotten the unofficial nod over Evan Neal.

As expected, Gunner Olszewski, who is also listed as the backup slot receiver to Wan’Dale Robinson, will be the primary kick and punt returner. Robinson is the backup punt returner, and veteran running back Devin Singletary is the backup kick returner.

Rookie edge rusher Abdul Carter is the backup to Brian Burns on the outside, and D.J. Davidson is listed as the primary backup at nose tackle behind Dexter Lawrence.

Finally, James Hudson is listed as the backup to left tackle Andrew Thomas, and rookie Marcus Mbow is listed as the backup to right tackle Jermaine Eluemunor.
