DJ Diesel (aka Shaquille O' Neal) cancels concert following Milwaukee Brewers game

Shaquille O’Neal won’t be playing at a Milwaukee Brewers game after all.

The NBA legend will no longer perform a post-Brewers game concert at American Family Field as planned under his musical alias, DJ Diesel, on Sept. 18, “due to unforeseen circumstances,” according to a news release sent by the team late afternoon on Aug. 25.

It was one of two postgame concerts scheduled for the season; hip-hop veteran Nelly performed at the Brewers ballpark following a game June 27.

It also was to be Shaq’s second Milwaukee musical performance this year, following his appearance at T-Pain’s “Back to Wiscansin Fest” at the Rave in June.

A replacement concert will not be booked for after the 6:40 p.m. game against the Los Angeles Angels, according to a news release. Fans who purchased a field pass for the concert will automatically receive a refund. Further questions can be emailed to tickets@brewers.com.

While the Brewers have had a stellar season of baseball, it’s been a pretty quiet season at American Family Field, musically speaking.

Aside from the game-related performances from Nelly and the now-canceled DJ Diesel set, just one tour stop has been announced for the stadium for 2025, following two consecutive years of record concerts. But the Billy Joel and Sting concert that had been scheduled for April was postponed, then ultimately canceled, along with all of the Piano Man’s shows, for health reasons.
