Stan Kroenke's sports empire is the most valuable in the world – and it's not even close

No owner in sports has enjoyed more success in the last three-plus years than Stan Kroenke. Since February 2022, his teams have won four championships: the Rams (NFL), Mammoth (NLL), Avalanche (NHL) and Nuggets (NBA), and they all came in a span of less than two years.

With ownership stakes in those four teams, as well as the Colorado Crush, Rapids and Arsenal of the Premier League, Kroenke has quite the portfolio of sports franchises. It should come as no surprise that his ownership group, Kroenke Sports and Entertainment, is the most valuable sports empire in the world.

According to CNBC, Kroenke’s group is worth a whopping $21.17 billion, the highest valuation of any sports empire globally. The second-most valuable in the world belongs to the Jones family, led by Jerry Jones of the Dallas Cowboys, but they’re far behind with a valuation of $15.53 billion – more than $5.5 billion less than Kroenke Sports and Entertainment.

The Rams have become the second-most valuable team in the NFL at $7.6 billion, and they’ve consistently grown year over year – specifically since moving back to Los Angeles in 2016.

When Kroenke became the full owner of the Rams, the purchase price was $750 million, according to Forbes. Now, they’re worth 10 times that as of last August.

Opening SoFi Stadium helped, as has the Rams’ success on the field, and Kroenke isn’t done yet. He’s planning a sports and entertainment district that will be home to the Rams’ practice facility in Woodland Hills, a project that could cost up to $10 billion.
