Two young women survived being shot multiple times the night before the Fourth of July in Jacksonville’s Dinsmore community, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
It occurred about 9 p.m. in the 10000 block of Lancashire Drive near Old Kings Road. Sgt. Christopher Smith said both victims are in their late teens and that one was shot in the chest and both legs and other suffered gunshot wounds to her neck and a leg. Both victims’ injuries are considered non-life threatening at this time, Smith said.
The initial investigation determined it started with an argument between a male and one of the females, he said. The argument became heated and erupted into gunfire. Police corralled multiple witnesses at the scene and also have a person in custody being questioned.
