A Florida man was killed Monday morning in a motorcycle crash on Interstate 40 just west of Amarillo, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Kevin Jackson, 51, of Orange Park, Florida, was riding a 2024 Harley-Davidson Road Glide eastbound around 7:21 a.m. June 30 when he failed to navigate a curve. The motorcycle left the roadway, entered the center median, hit a cable barrier and flipped. Jackson was thrown from the bike and died at the scene.

He was wearing a helmet. No other vehicles were involved.
The posted speed limit in the area is 75 mph. Road conditions were dry, and the weather was described as partly cloudy.
The Texas Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the crash.
