For the second consecutive year a Tuloso-Midway athlete has been voted the Driscoll Children’s Hospital Caller-Times Fan Favorite High School Athlete of the Year.
Tuloso-Midway volleyball player Hailey McLaughlin received 60.5% during the final round of voting, which was 199,517 of the 329,571 total votes casted for the eight finalists.
T-M boys swimmer Gavin Lopez, and last year’s Fan Favorite High School Athlete of the Yearm was second with 94,928 votes.
To be eligible, student-athletes had to be one the three dozen Athlete of the Week winners from the 2024-25 school year.
Voting was broken down over three weeks beginning Monday, June 9 and will run from Monday through Friday each week with voting wrapping up at 2 p.m. every Friday.
Other finalists included John Paul II softball player Erin Gonzalez, Calallen girls soccer player Kynslee Carroll, Veterans Memorial girls soccer player Kylie Russell, Calallen football player Reese Rusher, Veterans Memorial football player Andrew Charlebois and Sinton baseball player Keldon Kemp.

High school Athlete of the Year voting was broken down into three weeks with the athletes receiving the most votes advancing to the next round of voting.
